Uniform

DSC02797.jpg

New End Primary School children wear their uniform with pride. Our uniform shows that we are part of the New End Primary School community. We have the highest expectations from our children with regards to school uniform and appearance, and strongly believe that our high standards promote positive behaviour, support effective teaching and learning and contribute to the ethos of the school.

It is our school policy that all children from Reception to Year Six wear school uniform when attending school, or when participating in school-organised events outside normal school hours. We ask children to take pride in their personal appearance. Some items of uniform can be bought from the school, whilst others are easily available, at very competitive prices, at local shops including supermarkets. A complete list of the items needed for school uniform including those for Physical Education, is included below.

Our policy on school uniform is based on the belief that school uniform:

  • promotes a sense of pride in our school

  • helps to create a sense of community and belonging towards the school

  • identifies the children with the school

  • supports our commitment to inclusion, making sure children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance

  • prevents children from wearing ‘fashion clothes’ that could be distracting in class

  • is practical, smart and designed with health and safety in mind

  • is considered suitable and good value for money
