Testimonials from Parents and Children

My daughter started at New End in September 2020. I had been worried about how she’d adapt, given that even before Covid she didn’t really like joining in with groups. I needn’t have worried. New End has proved to be such a warm and welcoming school, with positive teaching methods. Ms Ray, the Head, and teachers have hearts of gold. Our daughter skips to school now- she’s so excited to see friends and teachers. Another wonderful insight was how the school handled home schooling during the third/winter  lockdown. They offered 3 hours a day with lots of good resources to hand. It was clear that they were a happy class – and that the teacher had wonderful ways to engage and educate the children, keeping them keen to learn. Whilst lockdown was a pain- a silver lining was having this insight into our daughter’s school day.
I’m very grateful to all at New End for everything they did over that time- as well as the ongoing lessons now they’re back at school. Seeing my daughter’s eyes light up when she realises she can read signs and posters when out and about now is a real joy.
A New Member of the New End Community, Year 3

Our three daughters have settled in New End extremely well, made wonderful friends and are flourishing academically and as happy girls. The leadership of the school is outstanding, always fostering curiosity and love for learning, a good social development of the kids and an enriching communication with parents. All the teachers we met have showed great vocation and commitment. During the winter lockdown the school was amazingly well organized providing online lessons from 9 to 3, keeping the kids learning and in continuous on line contact with their teachers and friends. We cannot we prouder of being part of this fantastic community.

Maria and Sergio, New to New End
We are delighted that our daughter got a chance to study at New End in reception. Our daughter started at New End in reception, 3 months after the school year had started. Despite her late start, she was made to feel welcome by the staff and students at New End. Her teacher gave her additional support to help her catch up and helped her to quickly settle in.
Our daughter couldn’t imagine a day without going to the school – not only because of the friendly yet respectful environment but also because of the varied set of extracurricular programs such as sports, languages, coding, and philosophy for children, which rounds out their development in their early years.
Over the past 4 years, we have been delighted at the quality of education, the care of the teachers and staff, and the close-knit community of parents at New End. The school has a wonderful learning atmosphere that challenges its pupils to be curious and well-rounded enabled by thoughtful, caring teachers and staff. For instance, each term pupils will take on projects on a variety of subjects and learn through a range of media – digital research, books, discussions in class and actually making things to get to the depth of each topic.
We also are pleased that the school actively celebrates diversity. New End also has a great after-school program, helping working parents such as ourselves to know that our children are being taken care of after school.
Nimmy and Arka, Year 3 Parents

Thank you for everything you do for the school, for our children and for families.  We have been so happy to be at New End, such lovely memories these seven years.  Even though we are returning home, we will miss you alot!

Celine, Olivier and Maelle, Au Revoir New End

Our daughter joined New End in the nursery, under the exceptional care of Maria Fay. Our daughter has responded well to her teachers in every year since and they have each established a meaningful bond with her. The school is welcoming and nurturing and the location is first-class, from the view over London from the top floor balcony to the Fleet flowing unseen under the building. She  has been well-supported in all her efforts, the school offering a rounded and supportive approach to the curriculum. New End benefits from a ‘secret’ garden and has been able to offer specialised coding and music instruction for the pupils. Long may that continue. The children respond well to the encouraging system of certificates and trophies throughout their time at the school and the school day always feels well-run, with excellent discipline and enthusiasm for learning and playing. The parent association is very active and involved in fund-raising and putting on events, with the year punctuated by community events, fairs and entertainment open to all. New parents are always made to feel welcome and the school is brilliant at communication, with emails, newsletters and thriving WhatsApp year groups for parents. It’s always straightforward to get in touch with teachers and school leaders.

Lucian, Y4 Parent

The “awesomeness” of academic life at New End is one of the few things our girls agree on and it took a while for us to appreciate the simple joy of having children look forward to their day at school.
Such a stable and cheerful learning environment is evidenced by (and the result of) the disproportionately high number of long serving staff.  Their wisdom and experience not only provides an inclusive, nurturing culture but also instils confidence in pupils and facilitates friendship groups that go well beyond the school gates.

Be it baking in the nursery or the basics of web design (using Scratch & HTML) in the junior school, the curriculum delivery is enthusiastic and rigorous with learning goals personalised as opposed to pressurised.  It was hard not to feel like a proud parent watching our eldest on stage at the Shaw theatre in Romeo & Juliet.

In short, there is no end to the praise for New End from our family!
